DARCY’s Book

PeaceJam traces the lives of five American teens who, by developing personal relationships with Nobel Peace Laureates such as the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu, begin to sense their own potential for greatness. The issues they face are daunting. There is an angry Chicano enmeshed in gang life; a young woman so neglected she hates herself; two young women born of an interracial marriage; and one young man whose life was changed forever by the Columbine school shootings. Through the PeaceJam Program—an educational program built around the spirit, skills and wisdom of Nobel Peace Laureates—they meet the Nobel laureates, and their views of the world and themselves begin to change.
